Conveyor Accessories
The Advance range of standard aluminium belt conveyors comes with a number of additions or accessories. Note this isn’t an exhaustive list of items you can use with our conveyors and if there is something you want to add to a conveyor that isn’t on the list, just contact us and we will be more than happy to quote you.
Side Guides / Side Rails
All Advance conveyors can be fitted with a number of different side guide options whether you need to simply prevent product rolling off the belt or require side rails to accurately position product on the belt we can help.
The conveyor in the image (click the image for a bigger view) shows standard 150mm high side guide, manufactured from mild steel and powder coated to the colour of your choice. The fixed side guide is used primarily to prevent any product overhanging the belt or rolling off the conveyor and can come in 50mm, 100mm or 150mm high (other sizes can be made if required).
Fixed side guides are a very cost effective method of ensuring product remains on the belt and can be added to any Advance conveyor.
The next image shows an A880 conveyor with adjustable side rails on both sides of the belt. These are plastic wear strips attached to steel rods, the rods can be moved in or out to increase or decrease the gap between them, making it very easy to position product on the belt.
The adjustable side guides can be fitted to any Advance conveyor and can be arranged to suit a specific product. If product needs to be accurately positioned on a belt, for labelling or marking etc., we can set up the side rails to ensure the product is positioned correctly.
Electrical Control Options
Advance conveyors can come with any electrical control requirement that you need, we have our own electrical department here and all panels are built by Advance.
Standard control options are:
- Direct Online Starter - Basically a simple start/stop box (as illustrated on the A880 conveyor with adjustable side guides above).
- Variable Speed Panel - The variable speed panel is a popular choice as it offers simple speed control. The panel comes with an inverter, filter and MCB with panel mounted start/stop button, isolator and optional speed dial.
The two options above are very simple control options but should you require something a little more complex like sensors to stop the belt when a product reaches the end, timers or fully automated PLC control, Advance can offer a solution.

The Advance range of standard conveyors are so easy to add to that there is no end to accessories, additions or bespoke framework that we can add to a simple conveyor. Take a look at a few pictures below which show how a standard conveyor has been modified to improve it’s effectiveness.
